Convergence and Error Bound for Perturbation ofLinear

چکیده
In various penalty/smoothing approaches to solving a linear program, one regularizes the problem by adding to the linear cost function a separable nonlinear function multiplied by a small positive parameter. Popular choices of this nonlinearfunction include the quadraticfunction, the logarithm function, and the x ln(x)-entropy function. Furthermore, the solutions generated by such approaches may satisfy the linear constraints only inexactly and thus are optimal solutions of the regularized problem with a perturbed right-hand side. We give a general condition for such an optimal solution to converge to an optimal solution of the original problem as the perturbation parameter tends to zero. In the case where the nonlinear function is strictly convex, we further derive a local (error) bound on the distance from such an optimal solution to the limiting optimal solution of the original problem, expressed in terms of the perturbation parameter.

Convergence of Legendre wavelet collocation method for solving nonlinear Stratonovich Volterra integral equations
In this paper, we apply Legendre wavelet collocation method to obtain the approximate solution of nonlinear Stratonovich Volterra integral equations. The main advantage of this method is that Legendre wavelet has orthogonality property and therefore coefficients of expansion are easily calculated. By using this method, the solution of nonlinear Stratonovich Volterra integral equation reduces to...
متن کاملAn efficient numerical method for singularly perturbed second order ordinary differential equation
In this paper an exponentially fitted finite difference method is presented for solving singularly perturbed two-point boundary value problems with the boundary layer. A fitting factor is introduced and the model equation is discretized by a finite difference scheme on an uniform mesh. Thomas algorithm is used to solve the tri-diagonal system. The stability of the algorithm is investigated. It ...

In this paper we examine fluctuation and frequency of the governing equation ofoscillator with odd and even nonlinearities without damping and we present a new efficientmodification of the He’s homotopy perturbation method for this equation. We applied standard andmodified homotopy perturbation method and compare them with the numerical solution (NS), also weapplied He’s Energy balance method (...
متن کاملA Sharp Sufficient Condition for Sparsity Pattern Recovery
Sufficient number of linear and noisy measurements for exact and approximate sparsity pattern/support set recovery in the high dimensional setting is derived. Although this problem as been addressed in the recent literature, there is still considerable gaps between those results and the exact limits of the perfect support set recovery. To reduce this gap, in this paper, the sufficient con...
متن کاملPerturbation bounds for $g$-inverses with respect to the unitarily invariant norm
Let complex matrices $A$ and $B$ have the same sizes. Using the singular value decomposition, we characterize the $g$-inverse $B^{(1)}$ of $B$ such that the distance between a given $g$-inverse of $A$ and the set of all $g$-inverses of the matrix $B$ reaches minimum under the unitarily invariant norm. With this result, we derive additive and multiplicative perturbation bounds of the nearest per...
